Julia Bird
Julia is a former banker whose 10+ years of working with food access programs led her back to school to pursue a degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Sustainable Food and Farming. She began her transition into agriculture in 2024, working on farms throughout the North Shore. In 2025, she answered a call for help from Stacey and Alex and has been happily rooted at Iron Ox since!
Julia grew up gardening with her grandparents so farming feels less like a new chapter and more like returning home. These days, she feels lucky to spend her days caring for the land, feeding her community, and building a life rooted in care, integrity, and connection.
When she’s not playing in the dirt, Julia is usually (somewhat questionably) forging, working on a puzzle, camping, reading in a hammock, or diving into yet another craft project. She lives in Georgetown with her husband and two cats- who if we’re being honest, run the place.
